taxi rank story

it's that time of the year for the "thousands of mobile phones are left in the backs of taxis every year" story. And laptops, and memory sticks. Quick, buy our security device now.... It's based on real research, you know, although the honest cabbies who commissioned it are too embarassed to put it on their web site. In a desperate effort to refresh the story, they are suggesting its not just happening in London (last year's take) but in Bombay (sic) and Sydney too.

Orange Scandi

Just when you think it is safe to go to press... the briefing section on Managed Services for the December issue (a good read in store) is already at the printer... (no, make that a great read...) Then this happens Is it just coincidence that senior people from the French and Swedish partners were sat together at top table for the WCA gala dinner just 10 days' before? The lesson is: be there next year, its where the deals happen!

You say Tomato...

Congrats to all the winners at this year's WCA. If you were there, thanks for coming and hope you enjoyed it. Special thanks to BT for keeping the party swinging after the main event. If you were confused by the exchange of views between the editor TT who introduced the show, and the man from the Economist who spoke on behalf of the judges, and want to understand better which was on the side of free markets (clue: they both are-they just say it differently), here's your chance. First up, the text of the intro is here. Next, the chair of judges has his say here. Enjoy.

vote early....

eye-catching news item for WCA judges trying to make sense of the polling for Most Influential Person in Communications. Who needs e-audits? We know where the votes are coming from - and we'll take the appropriate action!
